What is the Tree-Shirts Collection?
The Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance has managed the Caribbean Tree Planting Project (CTPP) based mainly voluntary work. The entire team contributed their time and efforts for a common goal to plant 1 million trees until June 5, 2021. Now that this target was exceeded, we decided to continue the important work in the region to achieve a new target of 2 million trees and we invite the public to support our efforts.
The Caribbean Philanthropic Alliance is collaborating with Alba of Denmark, a sustainable Danish children clothing brand to roll out a fundraiser campaign. Our partnership is rooted in our shared support to accelerate efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
It is this shared vision and concrete actions that will enable us to create a more sustainable environment and society.
As part of this collaboration, Majken, the owner and designer of Alba of Denmark created a special collection for the CTPP. The shirts are available in children and adult sizes and made sustainably from leftover fabric to support No-Waste production. We named the collection TREE-Shirts to be playful and to carry the important tree planting message. The design is special as the print of the shirt was inspired by the oldest tree in St. Kitts and Nevis, a 162-year-old Baobab Tree. By purchasing a TREE-Shirt you support our team’s effort to create a more livable and sustainable environment in the Caribbean.
Our tree planting work connects to many SDGs. In addition to SDG #13 (climate change); and SDG #15 (life on land), our work also supports SDG #2 (zero hunger); SDG#5 (women empowerment/gender equality); SDG# 6 (clean water); SDG #8 (decent work and economic growth)…and more.
